Tutorial

Step by step: Edit images in your browser

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use Photoshop Online to edit images professionally – directly in your browser without any software installation.

1

Upload or create

Start by uploading an image: drag and drop into the editor, click to select a file, or paste from clipboard with Ctrl+V. Alternatively, create a new blank canvas by specifying width and height. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, SVG, GIF, and BMP.

2

Edit your image

Use the toolbox on the left to access editing tools: crop and resize, rotate and flip, adjust brightness/contrast/saturation, apply filters, draw with brushes, add text, and create shapes. Each tool has configurable properties in the right panel.

3

Work with layers

Layers let you work on different parts of your image independently. Add new layers for text, drawings, or adjustments. Rearrange, merge, duplicate, or delete layers. Adjust opacity and blend modes for creative effects.

4

Export your work

When you're finished, click "Export" to save your image. Choose from JPG (best for photos), PNG (for transparency), or WebP (for web use). Adjust the quality slider to balance file size and image quality, then download.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use layers for non-destructive editing. Keep your original image on the bottom layer and make adjustments on separate layers above it.
  • Use keyboard shortcuts for faster editing: Ctrl+Z for undo, Ctrl+Shift+Z for redo, Ctrl+C/V for copy/paste, and +/- for zoom.
  • For web images, export as WebP for the best quality-to-size ratio. For images with transparency, use PNG. For photographs, use JPG.
  • Save your work frequently by exporting intermediate versions. Since the editor runs in the browser, closing the tab will lose unsaved changes.
